In 1989, when his parents suffered a bad experience at the hands of an unscrupulous double glazing company, Greg Allen was determined to do something about the sharp practises and shoddy workmanship that plagued the home improvement industry. With that in mind he started his own home improvement advisory in Leicestershire to provide independent advice to anyone buying windows, doors, or a conservatory. The service was designed to help people avoid the pitfalls associated with buying home improvements and its purpose still resonates today.

10 years later Greg, prompted by his son Ashley, had the idea to broaden his advisory using the power of the internet to reach out to homeowners throughout the UK. After meeting his future business partner, a gifted programmer, they developed the first instant online double glazing pricing tool in the world and the price engine was born. Since then millions of people have used price engines to get an instant online guide price for their home improvement requirements to help them avoid paying over inflated prices.

But that was never enough for Greg and in 2008 he set up All Craftsmen, an independent online advisory dedicated to fulfilling the core values set out over 20 years ago. All Craftsmen helps home improvement customers find quality companies and quality companies find customers.
